Whenever I start okular from my KDE SVN installation it crashes immediately since several days, it worked before:

Code: Select all
 $ okular
okular(14054)/kdecore (KSycoca) KSycocaPrivate::openDatabase: Trying to open ksycoca from  "/var/tmp/kdecache-username/ksycoca4"
okular(14054)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
okular(14054)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
okular(14054)/kio (KDirWatch) KDirWatchPrivate::KDirWatchPrivate: Can't use FAM (fam daemon not running?)
okular(14054)/kio (KDirWatch) KDirWatchPrivate::KDirWatchPrivate: Available methods:  ("Stat", "INotify")
okular(14054)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
okular(14054): Attempt to use QAction "bookmark_action_0" with KXMLGUIFactory!
ASSERT: "d->actions.count() == 1" in file /home/username/kdesvn/kdelibs/kdeui/xmlgui/ktoolbarhandler.cpp, line 227
KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = okular path =  pid = 14054
sock_file=/home/username/.kde4-svn/socket-hostname/kdeinit4__0

The backtrace reads
Code: Select all
Application: Okular (okular), signal SIGABRT

Hi! I've reproduced it too. You should report it on b.k.o.

I think KDE devs are currently either on Jamaica or busy with preparing the 4.2 release (or both), so 'Ill wait a few more days, before reporting it, esp. as I'm not sure whether my kdesvn build in my home directory isn't the cause. But thanks for confirming that I'm not the only one with that problem.

Deleting the file /home/username/kde/share/apps/okular/shell.rc solved the problem for me. I just deleted it, and didn't make any backup before. Could you make a backup before you try if that also works for you? As a crash is never a clean exit, even on a faulty config file, maybe one should include the faulty file in the bug report.

If that deleting that file also solves your problem, I'll set this thread to "solved" and report the issue and it's probable cause to b.k.o.

EDIT: I generated a new kde/share/apps/okular/shell.rc file by reinstalling kdegraphics and okular crashes again.

The problem was a small regression in kdelibs, that has been fixed few hours ago (so make sure to update your kdelibs!).

(PS: I'm not in Jamaica...)

Sorry to hear that ...

I'll try to update my installation as soon as anonsvn.kde.org is up again, in the moment I just get "svn: Can't connect to host 'anonsvn.kde.org': Connection refused".

Thank you very much for your help, I'll set the topic to "solved", when I'm done with updating!
