I have some pdf documents I need to read and print for work. I very much like to use okular vs xpdf. However, I cannot figure out how to get okular to properly display the western characters that are in the MS Gothic font that are embeded in the pdf documents.

Can Okular do this or is it only capable of displaying native fonts? What do people in other countries (ie: Japan) do if they have KDE?

I had an aha! moment.

I looked up the okular page and learned that poppler does all the pdf stuff.

I installed poppler-data and low-and behold... I can read pdf documents with embeded Japanese font "MS Gothic"!!!!!

Shuuuuuweeeet!
