Since moving to Kubuntu 10.10I I can only print monochrome using Okular. With all other settings the printer(KonicaMinolta mc2530dl) does not start.
$ okular -v Qt: 4.7.0 KDE Development Platform: 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1) Okular: 0.11.1

If you use other applications such as OpenOffice, Gwenview, etc. to try and print, is colour available? This may be a fault of the CUPS driver which supports your printer.

I second bcooksley.
Call up the print dialogue in okular and go into options. My guess is that "monochrome" is selected...

Thanks for replies. I feel a bit silly.
The problem was NOT with Okular it was with Open Office. I'd been using Okular quite a lot that day and messed up when I sent the email. At that time Open Office printed OK when I had the printer set to monochrome but if I set it to anything else it failed to start. Now it appears to be working with any colour setting, I think there were some cups update recently. I wonder if I should mark this SOLVED? If I do it will make searchers hope for an answer to their problem. The best option would seem to be to delete the whole thread. Is that possible? Sincere appologies.

No, just mark it as solved, because daft as it may seem - we ALL have stumbled across the silliest mistakes and continue to do so.
However, if the mods feel that this thread is just noise they'll delete it whatever (and they don't in this forum).
