Printing (esp from Okular) results in misaligned page

Hi there

I've been having trouble with printing for a while now (well, since leaving 3.5 actually) and can't seem to find a solution.

the problem:
If I print via lpr (ie a tiff file) everything works fine (over cups). If I open the same image in okular and start printing, the image seems to be misaligned - 1.8 centimeters to the right and 3.4 cm up, so there are blank spaces left/bottom and the image gets cut off at the top (where the printer can't print anymore) and on the right side (still with a border of 2cm which is just blank). I've tried different settings, especially paper format (A4, but tried with letter etc too) with absolutely no influence - even though this seems the most likely cause.

an example of an incorrect print:
Image
and thats what lpr produced:
Image

as you can see, the print is 'off the page'.. I assume I have some incorrect configuration or similar, but don't know how to find the cause of this problem.
Could anyone point me in the correct direction for fixing this? Any help is very much appreciated.

It may be worth checking the Image settings in the Options dialogue.

thanks for your reply. I'm not quite sure what you mean though ;-) do you refer to the options of okular itself or of the printer dialog? maybe I should add that I've got the same problem with any kind of document.

Pictures, PDFs etc - everytime I use the default KDE printing dialog, this happens. If I were to use, say the official Adobe Acrobat instead of Okular, I get a different printer dialog and the printout is correct (but I really prefer to use okular).

I just don't know where the problem could be - is there some folder or files which I could delete to make sure I start with a fresh configuration? Maybe something got messed up from an old config file in ~/.kde/share or something like that. I'm pretty sure its some config problem, a bug in KDE seems highly unlikely, I just don't know how to find the cause (maybe its one of the filters that get called for every print or something like that).

Kind regards

I was thinking of the Options dialog in Okular. The other possibility is that you have some incompatibilities between the CUPS settings and Okular.

well, I think I've tried most of the feasible settings in the printing dialog from okular, without any improvement.
what I did notice though was, that if I set okular to print multiple pages on one sheet of paper, the print is perfect (no misalignement at all) - only it takes ages to print a few pages (around 1 per minute, instead of the usual 20 or so).

setting the rasterize option for pdfs also works on single pages (the quality seems just a bit low compared to without).

so my first question remains:
which files could I delete to reset all the settings completely? I still have some hope this could work.. ;-)
