hi,

I have been trying for a while now, but whenever i start digikam, i get these error messages on the terminal screen

Code: Select all
[sayantan@kenzo450D ~]$ digikam
QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in use, all queries will cease to work.
digikam(4858): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'digikamdates'.
"
digikam(4858)/digikam (core) Digikam::AlbumManager::slotDatesJobResult: Failed to list dates
digikam(4858): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'digikamalbums'.
"
digikam(4858)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImageAlbumModel::slotResult: Failed to list url:  "Could not start process Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'digikamalbums'.
."
digikam(4858)/kdecore (trader) KServiceTypeTrader::defaultOffers: KServiceTypeTrader: serviceType  "Digikam/ImagePlugin"  not found

i followed the steps as told in http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/473322-digikam-no-longer-works-upgrade.html and deleted the two .db files and tried it again, but the error seems to persist. :'(

Please help, anyone.

did it ever work? does it work for a new/diff user?

could be you have a bad/corrupt package, I would restall it

try renaming ~/.kde4/share/config/digikamrc & ~/.kde4/share/apps/digikam and

OpenSuse Leap 42.1 x64, Plasma 5.x

In this case, Digikam appears to not be finding any of the plugins which should be associated with it.

Please run: "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental". If that does not fix the issue, please ensure that all digikam related packages (excluding translations) are installed and not broken (force a reinstallation if necessary).
