I want to replace Picasa completely with DigiKam but when I tested it (version 2.8.0) I noticed that it could detect the faces and offers tagging option but it didn't auto grouping the results after face scanning (I don't know if I used the correct term).
Is there any way to make DigiKam auto grouping the result of face detection? |

If you don't get a response here (i'm not sure how well monitored the Digikam forum is by those who actively use and develop it) then you might want to try mailing the digikam-users@kde.org mailing list.

I replaced Picasa with Digikam a couple years back. Face recognition looked like it was there, but has not been up until now (it did find faces and allow you you manually tag them). With 3.3.0 beta, just out a couple days ago it should do face recognition, but I couldn't get it to install yet. I really want IT (I had tens of thousands of pictures tagged in Picasa before I left Windows).

As I said up here, manual tagging is really exhausting procedure without auto grouping. Does beta version of Picasa support auto grouping? |
