I copied a collection to a sd card, works fine on a different pc
on this machine, I went to seting>collection
deleted to old location
Browsed to the new location
green checkmark
click done
collection not found

copied collection to a separate HDD formated fat32
same result

If you configure Digikam under a new user, pointed at the new location of your collection, does it work properly?

thank you for the response
I deleted the configuration file
home/*******/.kde4/share/config/digikamrc
which let me do a fresh configuration @ digikam start up
everything working fine
