even with my relatively fast (3GHz, 8 Gig) Kubuntu 14.04 box, it takes about an HOUR before the mandetory startup scan finished. The scan itself appears to finish in about 10 minutes (for 250,000 images), but then digiKam just sits in the background chewing 100% of the CPU (and 10% of the memory) for about an hour or so until it decides to reappear as a useable app. The scan goes faster with my MySQL vs SQlite... but still takes forever.
Qt: 4.8.6 KDE Development Platform: 4.13.3 digiKam: 3.5.0 When would be a huge and practical update is a batch scanner (from command line) and/or a background scanner. Tweaking the setting in "Misc" doesn't affect this issue. Am I the only person with this issue? |
