I haven't used Digikam recently, so excuse me if this has changed recently.
My current workflow involves these steps: import pictures in Picasa, export pictures to Google+ with online sync (at reduced size), use Google+ Photos to tag faces and lastly, Picasa automatically imports the face tags while retaining original resolution. From my experience online face recognition and tagging is more accurate than local face tagging. I know it is possible to export pictures to Picasa web (now Google+ Photos) using Digikam. Does Digikam support two way sync between Google+ Albums and local photographs? If Digikam can somehow import face tags, and possibly GPS tags from Google+ photos, that would mean I can do away with my last Windows application. Thanks
