When I attach my camera to the PC the Removable Storage Notification pops up asking what to do. Before this last 15.04 upgrade, Open in Digikam Import, was an option. No there is only open with the file browser. How can I get Digikam back on this list?
Note: In Digikam, the import command works OK. This is about triggering it. Thanks, Ian |

I don't know Kubuntu 15.04, but you probably have the KDE4-based Digikam installed, as a KF5-bases version has not been released yet.
But the KDE4-based version only installs a solid action for the KDE4 desktop, not Plasma 5. To make it show up in Plasma 5, you could try to copy the file /usr/share/kde4/apps/solid/actions/digikam-opencamera.desktop to /usr/share/solid/actions/ or ~/.local/share/solid/actions/ (create the directory if it doesn't exist yet, I hope the paths are the same in Kubuntu). Or add an action yourself in systemsettings5->Device Actions, just like you could in KDE4. |

Thanks "Device actions" looks like the right place. But its not clear what you do next. I spend some time searching for a command to put in with no success. Has anyone any Idea?

Well, if you don't know what to do and just want the old entry back exactly like it was, just copy the file over like I told you. Anyway, the old entry has this command to execute: (here on openSUSE at least)
And the conditon is:
It should look like this: IOW, select "Content Disjunction" as "Parameter type" for the first line, "Content Conjunction" for the second, "Property Match" and "Ignored" (as "Value Name") for the third one with "false" as the value it must equal, and "Property Match"/"Usage" (as "Value Name") "Equals" "FileSystem" as fourth (for the last 2 you have to set the "Device Type" to "Storage Volume". For the last one, set "Parameter type" to "Property Match" as well, but "Device type" should be "Camera", "Value Name" should be "Supported Drivers" and it should "Equals" "gphoto". That's how my entry looks here, i.e. the standard one shipped with Digikam. You could deviate a bit if you wanted to of course. |

Thanks. I was trying the find the solution for users. I did a lot of searching. I was trying to avoid hacking it, as that usually ends up with other problems. I will give that a go though.

You should probably tell that to your distribution. The problem here is that Kubuntu 15.04 ships Plasma 5 by default, but still only has a KDE4-based Digikam (as mentioned, there has not been a KF5-based release yet). So they should probably move that particular file to the place where Plasma 5 expects it in their packaging. This will of course all be sorted out when all applications are KF5 based. |
