Dear all,
I'm new to this forum and new to Digikam but I would like to try using it for an online photo library. Could this be done within collaboration of Google Drive? Thanks in advance, Xavier |

Almost any file formats can be uploaded to GDrive
the issue isn't so much can it be done--it can its about the storage space that you have allocated to your account and it's about whether you compromise your file type to Google's specs or whether you keep your format intact at your storage space cost (the way I use GDrive) (I also use Dropbox as I want my files kept as I made them..) Hope that helps you...

Hey There, Thanks for your answer. It suits me as well but I just don't know how to set up the digikam online on the google drive space. I have space enough but It is just not working out. Do you have a solution for this? Thanks in advance, Xavier |

This request is confusing... it sounds like you want to install this app on GDrive... which is not possible! the obvious solution is that digikam is installed on your localhost (ie your PC) and the media you produce is stored on your remotehost (ie GDrive) given this method, your media is in two places: local and online

Hey, I don't want to install the digikam on the google drive space. I would like to set it up on my hosted webspace but the pictures should be in the google drive folder as i have a TB storage on there. |

Umm... sorry, it kinda sounds like the previous request, namely to install digiKam online somewhere which as I said before... cannot be done! digiKam is a desktop app and it is not a web app--which is what you'd need to install in your webspace like any localhost app... this requires an OS, DE, WM, relevant libraries etc to work you'd need to find a web-based alternative to digiKam--plenty available--to achieve your requirements

BTW, this is not what you were directly asking for but digiKam has plugins that may get you want, or at least in part...
search for the "Flickr Export Tool" (obviously not for GDrive but hey...) or "Google Services Export Tool" (it may still exist as a plugin) otherwise see if this helps you: http://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2015/173/Workspace-digiKam-Photo-Sharing/(offset)/3
