I have configured Digikam to use a MySQL database.

I have created a user for this database and granted ALL privileges.

On starting Digikam complains

digikam(24264)/digikam (core): Insufficient rights on databse.

but starts

Configure Digikam / Database - Test connection is successful

I have checked, and rechecked, the user has all privileges. Still no joy.

I have deleted the user and tried again, resulting in the same failure.

Help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

OpenSuse Tumbleweed

Qt: 4.8.7
KDE Development Platform: 4.14.16
digiKam: 4.14.0

mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.0.22-MariaDB, for Linux (x86_64) using readline 5.2

For anyone else searching for this, this http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digiKam-users-Can-t-open-DK-DB-Error-external-DB-Server-td4706260.html thread points out that there is an unnecessary temp table "PrivCheck." Removing the table allowing the update script to complete.

Code: Select all
MySQL [DIGICORE]> drop table PrivCheck;
