Hi there,

I have happily been using Digikam on Ubuntu for years. I always imported first with Rapid Photo Downloader (RPD), which enabled me to sort my incoming pictures into folders that RPD generated generated based on image metadata (camera/year/date). I recently moved to an iMac and would like to continue using Digikam. Does anyone have a suggestion whether Digikam or any other Mac software will allow me to auto-generate folders upon import and move my pictures there just like RPD used to do? The stock 'image capture' software on my Mac does not do that. I know that Lightroom and PhotoMechanic both do this but would like to stay away from these. Thanks, Marius

PS: I apologize if this forum is not for Mac users.

EDIT: I found DateTree software at http://www.orange-carb.org/DateTree/downloads.html and this at least allows me to sort by date.
EDIT: ExifTools also seems to do the job
