Cannot rename files in a folder but can do so when symlinked

Hi,

A weird behaviour of digikam (both 5.9.x stable and 6.0.0 development; AppImage distribution, Arch Linux):

On the desktop, I have LVM + XFS + eCryptfs for /home/user directory.

Collections:
Code: Select all
/srv/Photos
/srv/Videos
/home/user/Nextcloud/Sync
/home/user/Nextcloud/Sync_shared

where
Code: Select all
/home/user/Nextcloud
is managed by Nextcloud sync client and
Code: Select all
/home/user/Nextcloud/Sync
is a standard Nextcloud folder and
Code: Select all
/home/user/Nextcloud/Sync_shared
is a folder of another Nextcloud user, who shared his files with me (r/w permissions).

Now, I cannot rename files (F2 - Rename) in the last collection - the rename dialog remains on (as if it is still processing the renaming) and never completes, so that I have eventually to abort it. I can rename the file manually in file manager (GNOME 3 - Nautilus, Midnight Commander). The file and folder permissions are the same as in any other folder.

Interestingly, when I create a symlink outside of Nextcloud folder.
Code: Select all
ln -s Nextcloud/Sync_shared Documents/Sync_shared

and add it as a collection, all works.

Anybody has an idea what is wrong? The workaround is clumsy.

P.S. I am having a bunch of other issues with /home/user/Nextcloud/Sync_shared folder - digikam quite often does not notice new files were added / changed, a sub-folder being recursively created within itself (leading to never ending duplication of photos). Difficult to reliably reproduce and probably not directly related to digikam - e.g. the recursive folder repetition happens also when accessing the folder via file manager. Let's resolve the renaming first :-)
