I have a large collection of images across many subdirectories, mostly small images and all .jpg or a few .png. I left digikam running and it said it had completed something after 2.5 hours but then crashed. I have tried again but it gives no indication of how far it has got and whether or not it is likely to crash again.

Is there any indication as to how long it 'should' take to initially deal with 2.5 million images? And can it actually deal with large numbers of images without crashing?
Unfortunately I can't really split the images into different sets as they are all part of the same data that needs to be searched and dealt with together.

I did initially try on another directory structure with just a tiny number of images and it seemed to work ok there so the installation seems ok.
