Hi,
Congratulations for your Showfoto app. I'd tried many, and it is the best for my needs, which are not professional. How can I have the original folder where the pictures are, which in some cases are not sorted by date of creation, but by name or date of modification, also sorted by date of creation, as I had chosen within Showfoto configuration? In other words: When I upload a batch of pictures to Showfoto, they are listed/sorted by date of creation. I then make the necessary modification on the ones I want, I save, but I am not able to sort the pictures on date of creation within the original folder. I had tried several file/folder manages, but none had the option to sort by date of creation, only date of modification. Is there any additional settings or any other option to make Showfoto also change the order of my pictures within the original folder, as extensions and/or scripts? Any other KDE product? Tks. ps. Googling, I learned that Dolphin should sort files withing folders also by date of creation, but I bug has been preventing it to do that. Also I learned that there is a fix for the bug but I couldn't understand how to proceed. |

Is your question about digikam or about sorting in Dolphin?
You might need to specify the distribution and version of application you are using, bug fixes usually show up in the next released version. To get the version information of your application, check the help menu of it -> About. The version of your distribution can usually be found in the KDE Info Center.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

So apparently those are two different issues, and the metadata not showing is clearly a Dolphin bug which is not solved yet: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406506
You might want to subscribe to this bug to get updates on the state of it. As for Baloo indexing not working, this should be solved now, but to see the changes you will have to wait for the next Ubuntu LTS installment if you want to stay with an LTS release (next will be 20.04, in April next year), as it is only available now in the upcoming Kubuntu 19.10
