With my installation SSD 1GB, HDD: 2GB, distribution: Ubuntu Desktop, I have following problem: when installing Digikam the recommandation is to use for the DK database a fast SSD disk. All my Linux files except, /home are on the SSD disk and there is still lots of room left on that disk. /home is on the HDD disk and I prefer to leave it there.
I created for the DK database a separate filesystem partition with the mountpoint "/data" on the SSD disk. In the filemanager Nautilus I have access to this directory "data" and can create for instance subfolders. I checked that "data" has all rwx permissions. Now the problem: in the confirmation window from Digikam for choosing the directory for the database, all standard Linux directories are proposed, including /home, but NOT the new "data" directory..... Could somebody explain why not? |
