digiKam

Looking for any ideas for partial date tagging with digiKam. I want to tag scanned photos where the image date is the scan date. Image date metadata will not accept partial dates. Currently I have a date tag with partial date sub-tags:
date
- 1968-08
- 1973
- 1987-08-03

Thanks!

I can suggest you to adopt 01, in case of missing either day or month.
Following your examples you will get:
- 1968-08-01
- 1973-01-01
- 1987-08-03

it's an approximation, but allows you to have always uniform date format
