I have just finished renaming a lot of the 75k photos in my database (using an external program). I thought if I 'refreshed' an album then it would import new files (which it does do) and also remove missing files from the database.

But it appears the old filenames still exist in the database (I have opened the database in SQ Lite and I now have 120k images in there. I have performed most of the database maintenance operations but no luck yet.
Syncronizing image metadata with database has currently been running for the last 20 hours, and is only up to 60%!

What is the function that that is supposed to remove missing files from the database?
