I am a Digikam (and DAM in general) novice, so I apologize in advance for my basic question:

I have a folder (album) in Digikam with a bunch of pictures inside taken on different days.
I would like to automatically create sub-albums (subfolders) named after the date the pictures were taken.

Basically, go from:

Code: Select all

MyAlbum
--TodaysPic.jpg
--YesterdaysPic.jpg

to:

Code: Select all

MyAlbum
--20220205
----TodaysPic.jpg
--20220204
-----YesterdaysPic.jpg

I have tried using the rename tool, but it doesn't seem able to create subfolders.
Doing some Google, I found out that there is an "Automatic Album Creation" when importing from cameras, but in my case the pictures are already imported.

I know I could create a script with ExifTool or similar, but isn't there an easier option?
