Batch image editor with digiKam

Sun Feb 06, 2022 10:24 am
I am relatively new to this amazing software and I am not a professional photographer, but enjoy taking pictures for myself, store them properly and apply corrections so they look good. I recently discovered the `image editor` which I really like. The thing is that right now I can edit photos one by one by right click on the photo and then `open (F4)`. As sometimes the light conditions for a bunch of photos are the same and they all need (almost) the same type of corrections, I would like to batch-image-edit so the brightness, contrast, color, etc. that I apply to one photo are applied to the whole set.

I have found that with the `batch queue manager` this can be done, I can apply each of the tools I have in the `image editor`. However I cannot get a preview of what the tool is doing, it is kind of a blind process. Is it possible to get a similar interface to the "single image editor" but then run the operations on a batch?

Of course one way is to open simultaneously the batch tool and the single image editor, try some kind of processing in the single image editor and then manually replicate the same one in the batch, but it is very cumbersome and does not look like the way to go. One very nice option would be to be able to 1) apply the filters to a single image until I like the result 2) copy the `used filters` that appear in `versions→used filters` 3) open the `batch queue manager` and paste all those filters. But this cannot be done.
