Missing Digikam database

Fri Apr 23, 2010 4:04 pm
By mistake I've deleted a Digikam database. From that point, Digikam doesn't allow me to create new collection anywhere on the HD with this error:

Code: Select all
It wasn't possible to create a collection from the path
/home/peta/Obrazky

Is there any way to recreate the database? I've deleted the digikam folder in ./.kde4/share/apps and nothing changed...

I'm running on Archlinux...

Try removing ~/.kde4/share/config/digikam* as well.

Still the same trouble. When starting, there's an error message

Code: Select all
The database couldn't be opened. Error message of database:

Error during the opening of database backend. Unable to open database file. Error during the opening of database.

Without functional database blah blah blah...

Please try running the following:

Code: Select all
killall -9 digikam
rm -rf $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/digi*
rm -rf $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/apps/digi*/
rm -rf /var/tmp/kdecache-$(id -un)/digi*
rm -rf /tmp/ksocket-$(id -un)/digi*
rm -rf /tmp/kde-$(id -un)/digi*
kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental

Aaaargh! Solved! The problem was in the specific (non-UTF-8 I guess) signs in the path to collection/database!!! I'm such an idiot :D Anyway, thanks for hints :)
