Digikam: how to disable certain files?

I just got around to importing a load of photos from my camera phone and unfortunately, I noticed it now imports more file types.

So while trying to import half a dozen photos I had to wade through hundreds of mp3 files as well as album covers and even small icons and overlays from phone themes.
Not only that, it took forever to scan the phone as well.

In the settings there is an option to ADD more file types but nothing to remove them.

I would like to be able to disable audio files and any files under a certain file size.
Is this possible?

Digikam has been the ONLY photo app that suits my needs and it took me months of trying different ones to settle on it but now it has become such a pain I just cannot use it like this.

I would suggest limiting the scope of where you place image files as a workaround.
You can set this in Digikam > Settings > Configure Digikam > Collections.

I'm not really sure what you mean?

I only have one folder my imported photos go into.

I think this would be a good enhancement to Digikam and that you should post a wish on bugs.kde.org - it would be the converse of the add file types for Digikam to process in settings -> mime types

In the mean time a thought (as I don't have a camera phone .....) use Dolphin to filter and copy only pictures from your phone into your collection then proceed with Digikam.

Maybe post this query on the #digikam irc
