I recently proposed my help in translating documentation. I'm a complete noob so I may have made mistakes here : I opened po files in Lokalize by clicking on them from Dolphin. So I did not create any project, even it it seems from the manual that that was the right way to do (?) So now I have so many tabs for each of these po files in the top of Lokalize, that I cannot close

I read the manual, and went on https://l10n.kde.org, but I could not find any answer, Hope someone can help me, thanks !

Ctrl+W or Close in the context menu of the tabs does not works for you?

It works, and I'm feeling really stupid because I looked everywhere except that - as I expected a cross icon close to the tabs - I did not even think about rightclicking on the tab Thanks a lot by the way

So, another quick question as I'm here : we're 3 contributors and our process is to take each one a part of the documentation. So we will never be two people translating the same file in the same time. Should I create a project in Lokalize for my own use only, or is that OK to continue translating .po files one by one ? At the end I will send the individual .po files to the person who coordinates the translation work. It is not a technical question, rather a "what's the usage" question. Thanks

Yes.

When you use a project, you can have a translation memory (TM) for the project. This means that Lokalize will remember the content you translate, and you can also load existing translations from PO files into the translation memory of the project. Then, when you are translating a message, you get suggestions from identical or similar messages found in the translation memory. I believe using a project is worth it already just for the translation memory.

Other project features, such as alternative translations or synchronization, may be handy for you depending on your use case.

And it’s always nice to see the progress of all your files in the summary view of the project, which also makes it easy to find the PO files that are still incomplete, which is very handy as you accumulate lots of PO files.
