Korganizer Todo List never shows up

Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:45 pm
Hello, I've met a serious problem in korganizer. When I create a new todo-item and press OK, it just vanish and the todo-list remains empty. However, it does show in the summary page.

This problem remains whether I use korganizer alone or use it in Kontact.

I checked some logs and found that following error appers when I add a new todo item:

Known subscriber "korganizer" subscribes again
akonadi_nepomuk_feeder(21406) FeederPluginloader::feederPluginsForMimeType: No feeder for type "text/calendar" found
AkonadiAgentServer(21402)/kio (KDirWatch) KDirWatchPrivate::removeEntry: doesn't know "/home/sun/.kde/share/apps/korganizer"
[/usr/bin/nepomukservicestub] nepomukstorage(1780)/nepomuk (storage service): FIXME

I'm using Kontact 4.83 on KUbuntu 12.04.

Thanks very much!

In the left hand bottom corner of KOrganizer, you should have a single entry labeled "Personal Calendar" or similar. Please ensure this is checked.

not exactly intuitive if you have already been mucking around with calendars and importing them etc, (took me ages to find this nugget of info) I thought I had some filtering issue.

Do you have any suggestion to how we could solve this issue, usability-wise ?

My apologies for bringing this up again. I can't find anything at all in the bottom left corner of the Korganizer screen. (I have saved an image of the screen; I don't know how to attach it.) I haven't done anything (to my knowledge) to the copy of Kontact (or korganizer) that comes by default with OpenSuSE 12.3.

Please post the image on an image sharing service like imgur, and provide the link here: that will suffice.

The image is at http://i.imgur.com/sCGYJRj.png . (Thanks for the reference to "imgur", BTW.) There are "todo" items in Korganizer, which appear in the Summary view. (Of course, I can't modify them there.)

It looks like you have the calendar pane hidden somehow. Click on the bottom margin of the box with "Select".. and drag upwards. it should show the calendars then.

Enable it in the "Settings" menu: "Sidebar"->"Show Calendar Manager".

Well, IMHO all resources should be enabled by default (this also applies to KAddressbook), at the very least the ones added by Akonadi Firstrun.

It's very confusing (especially for new users) when you first have to enable the calendar/contacts resource on a new account to make KOrganizer/KAddressbook work.

(1) I couldn't find the "Select" box. (2) It doesn't really matter, because ---

I suspect that Murphy has been enjoying what I am doing. This is surely his work. After I actually paid for "Swift ToDo" for the Windows system, the Korganizer todo list mysteriously appeared. I didn't do anything specifically to cause this. (I think I did apply a few updates suggested by YaST on my OpenSuSE system.)

I will now be eperimenting with Kontact, and see if it can replace the odds and ends I use on my Microsoft system.

Thanks to all for the prompt replys.
