Hello All,

I am not new to KDE, however I am starting only now to use KOrganizer for a small clinic business as it seems pretty packed with great features and easy to use.

Luckily, I had a trouble-free installation with everything working as it should, I believe; so, my question is regarding the use of different Calendars.

As I understand the default calendar is an iCal which is loaded from "/home/professor/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics". And all is good so far.

I would like now to separate my business appointments, from patient's birthdays reminders and various holidays because, as you can imagine, I would like to avoid clogging the calendar.

So, my question is: What Is The Best Way To Do This?

So far, I have played around KOrganizer and I have copied and renamed a cpl of 'std.ics' files in the same hidden directory calling them 1) Holidays and 2) Birthdays. I am keeping the default std.ics as Main Clinic Calendar. Basically, I have three 'ics' files one for each calendar. (furthermore, consider that I would like to keep backup copies of each calendar, especially my clinic appointments, in case of data lost or package damages during upgrade, etc.)

Would this be defined correct practice? or is there a better way to achieve this?

Any suggestions would be gladly welcomed.

Regards,

Tech Stuff:
OS: Slackware Current
KDE: 4.10.5

If I get it right, all you have to do is to go to Settings->Configure KOrganizer->General->Calendars->Add.

Hope this helps.

Hi Fluca1978,

it seems that I've done it right then (although I added the calendar directly on the folder by copy&paste and then rename).

I say so, cos in Settings->Configure KOrganizer->General->Calendars, I have found the folders/calendars that I created with the process explained above.

Thank you for your answer!
