Since I changed from openSUSE to PCLinuxOS I have a problem.

I'm using KOrganizer, Version 4.14.10.
I can change the colors that are connected with the different categories. But when I quit Kontact and start it again KOrganizer uses the default colors again.

What have I done wrong?

You need to find a file korganizerrc. In kubuntu - Root>usr>share>kde4>config>korganizerrc

Open the file and look for this section

CalendarFilters=
Current Filter=
Current View=Month

And then at the bottom add a line so it looks like this -

CalendarFilters=
Current Filter=
Current View=Month
Custom categories=egwork,eghome,egetc


There are probably better ways but this works on mine. Good luck.
