So I forgot to export my calendar before installing Ubuntu Studio to replace Ubuntu. However, I did make a full backup of my home folder, and after looking around I found the above mentioned directory which appears to have my calendar data scattered in various binary files (I checked with a hex editor).

Is it possible to recover my calendar from this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For me the main calendar in KOrganizer was at
Code: Select all
.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics

You can import it through File > Import.

I've experienced problems with Categories when importing that way. I had to manually enter each category name into the settings, and set the colors. After that the events were displayed in their correct color. It may have been that I didn't migrate some setting file that stored that info.

AFAICT these are important:

Code: Select all
.kde/share/config/korganizerrc
.kde/share/apps/korganizer/
.local/share/akonadi/
