Creating birthday event + Startup view

I have two questions:

    1. How would I create an event in KOrganizer and then move it to the Birthday calendar?
    2. When I open KOrganizer, it shows the month January, even though the current month is February. How would I change it to show the current month when I open KOrganizer?
