Text track to export with subtitles

Thu Mar 27, 2008 6:10 pm

Some video formats (as DVD) support support subtitles tracks, optionally showed by a player.

A great innovation would be to make a feature to add text tracks, and the possibility to add subtitle files in the same way as clip files.

Very good idea... I'm new to Kdenlive, aiming to learn to amster it, and I was wondering if I could use it also to add a .srt subtitles file to an .avi which I have. I'd love to use the same program for the maximum of taks related to video stuff, and kdenlive looked like a good candidate to have all in one features...

I hope this feature could be added in the feature...

Cheers

A next step could be options to render the text as DVD subtitles (transparent pictures), and rendering the text over the normal image track (fusion).
