Hy, i realy like kdenlive and have one idea, to have faster live video.
When i add transiton or effect (rotate + crop + sharpen + color) - in kdenlive i lost live preview - my computer is too slow to render it on real time (i think for any computer we can make task when they cant render on fly.
So why dont add option to settings - render effects to temp folder - then, all effects is rendered on every change. I think is not very problem to add it.
- simple task list to render effects with unique clipId, effect list,

when before render user change somethink task is canceled.

and mayby to options add - how many process melt run ( i seee they work in one core so if i have four i can run 2 or 3 task at one time with low priority)

When effect is rendered kdenlive show when we scrool this clip not try live render.

Is possible to add this ?

(i run with ubuntu 12.04 , ati 5400, and 10 GB of ram)

Yeah, I had the same idea... a kind of "proxy effects" where any time you change an effect a proxy quality version of the affected parts is rendered for real time playback later. I've been meaning to add it as a wishlist item, however unfortunately I have more pressing bugs to report first.

ok thanks for reply, for my and many users i think is important, if timetrack run too slowly aplication is not ussable - now movies in full hd resolution and not very difficult effects make big work so cant by rendered live. If you know how to do it - add it to wish list to this idea not disappeared :)

Quite often I use images in my videos with pan an zoom to create some movement, but with colour correction and any other effects, even on a fairly fast machine, I know I'm asking the software to perform miracles.

What I do, to see the finished effect is just render out the clip. If it's good, I just pop it in the Project Tree and then in the timeline replacing the original. Only takes a few minutes.

The "proxy effects" idea is certainly food for thought.

OS
Cinelerra has some similar feature that allows to render an effect and replace it in the timeline or save it as a separate file. The idea to use a temporary file for preview makes it perfect - from my point of view.

Is very difficult to add this option ?
I check on other computer with more speed quad core, better graphic card. FullHd movie witch water mark and in many clips, effects - speed is not satisfactory, so i think one way is proxy effects.
Then kdenlive have all time good speed, and this is most important of normal bugs, new features because if aplication run too slow any other features is not usable.
Mayby is possible to help with add this feature ?
