Working Configurations database

Thu Jun 11, 2009 6:44 pm
Hi,

Having struggled a bit to find a configuration that will work for me (and I'm not out of the woods yet), it occurs to me that Kdenlive must have access to a lot of information that could have helped me out. What I'm talking about is stuff like operating system and version, loaded libraries and packages, and so on. If, perhaps on installation, Kdenlive could offer the user the option of anonymously reporting these details back to a central database, then a set of working configurations could quickly be built up that people could browse through and get some clues. The idea could be extended to capture hardware profiles, possibly run a couple of benchmark tests and, with an optional user experience questionnaire, find out what users think about the setup they're using.

Any takers?

Regards,
M.
