I use Kdenlive for making instructional videos. I start with an audio track and short video files of animated diagrams, and I need to make the diagrams match the audio. It is currently a very cumbersome process, using the Speed effect to make bits of the clips last for whatever length I need.

Here's my feature request: Remove the Speed effect and instead allow stretching in the timeline. Users would use, let's say, Ctrl+drag on the ends to stretch the clip in time without changing the crop start/end positions.

Sounds like a good idea.
