Kdenlive - postproduction software

Sat Feb 11, 2012 3:26 pm
Hello. Here are my proposals for Kdenlive. I think there are already enough video editors to do the same things: Cinelerra, Lieves, Pitivi, MainActor, Kino, OpenShot, and Lumiera. Missing an editor specializing in postproduction. I see a good future for Kdenlive in postproduction and restoration. Below are some things I would like to see in future of Kdenlive:

Some postproduction software(non free):

Lustre have demo http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...&siteID=123112
Nucoda FilmMaster http://imagesystems.tv/media-bu/products/nucoda.aspx
Pablo http://www.quantel.com
PFClean http://www.thepixelfarm.co.uk/produc...ductId=PFClean
Scratch have free trial: http://www.assimilateinc.com
SGO Mistika http://www.sgo.es/mistika/

Lightworks is open source : http://www.lightworksbeta.com
DaVinci Resolve Lite is Free http://www.blackmagic-design.com/support

For postproduction i think a good place to find information, scripts, plugins,good support can be found on AviSynth community forum (http://forum.doom9.org),community which working with some of these options already.
Avisynth is a open source non-linear editing system for Windows only.
Look Avisynth in action: http://vimeo.com/2823934

This script is free but must be adapted to Kdenlive.Info and download http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144271

The programs in the videos above just have fancier user interfaces, but except for the tracker-locked general/rotoscope mask, I don't see many things that could not be done in Kdenlive...

Of course, Davinci runs on dedicated video hardware, so it can process HD in real time. But that is comparing apples and bananas...
