I got this error when starting from the terminal:
X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8 Major opcode: 62 (X_CopyArea) Resource id: 0x6200b49 And after playing and pausing the project monitor kdenlive crashed: I had a title clip with a composite over a static background on the lower layer. kdenlive: Fatal IO error: client killed KCrash: Application 'kdenlive' crashing... Fatal Error: Accessed global static 'KGlobalPrivate *globalData()' after destruction. Defined at /build/src/kdelibs-4.6.0/kdecore/kernel/kglobal.cpp:127 Unable to start Dr. Konqi edit: The X error seems to have come up because I had the project monitor dragged to another screen edit 2: the controls are still messed up in the latest svn when undocked. Can anyone verify that this problem exists on other systems? |

FWIW, I just tested on svn head, and it works for me (on Ubuntu 10.04-based KXStudio with KDE 4.5.3 on nvidia).

my video driver is intel and I use archlinux and svn. just updated to the latest svn and the problem is still there.
It's the same as the picture from the first post. It only happens when I undock the clip and project monitor and opengl is not selected in kdenlive's settings. If I can do anything on my end to help you figure this out please let me know. edit: even though the controls are visually messed up, they are fuctional. edit2: I uploaded a 1.2MB vid of the issue. http://www.mediafire.com/?rdosx7w5uxp1ylr |

When I undock the project or clip monitor they look the same
http://img683.imageshack.us/i/clipmonitor.jpg/ The control icons disappear but my system does not crash. I am able to use the functions, the icons just don't appear -I can click on the area where the play button should be and the clip will play. I can click on the region where the "gear" icon should appear and the menu appears, I can click the volume area and the volume bar appears and so on. See my post: http://www.kdenlive.org/forum/monitor-control-icons-dissappear-when-monitor-removed-canvas Using Version 0.7.9 (rev. 5509) Using KDE Development Platform 4.6.1 (4.6.1) "release 390 on OpenSuse 11.3 |

This is a known issue. But unfortunately we currently have no idea on how to fix it. See this bug report:

If you guys would like me test anything out that you think might
lead to some insight on this problem please let me know. I"m glad that it's not just intel drivers having this problem from the bug reports. |
