I were experiencing crashes too, but today KDEnlive simply refuses to start up, just states in a dialog it cannot locate MLT and asks for a path to it. This is happening to me too. I do not install MLT into a system path. I use environment variables to refer to everything (e.g., LD_LIBRARY_PATH) |

I found out the MLT installation path it wants is the MLT installation prefix. It appends "share/mlt/profiles" to it to parse through MLT's profiles. It stores the value in ~/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc so you are only asked once. |

I committed to MLT SVN the change I suggested with mlt_event_block as well as the string allocation bugfix. |

Thanks Dan. kdenlive works much better now! |

Yes, Kdenlive now needs to find the MLT "profiles" directory on your system. For example if you installed MLT in "/opt", you should have a folder named: You will then need to provide "/opt/" as your MLT install path. If you installed through the Kdenlive builder script located on this forum, you will need to provide something like: $HOME/build/kdenlive/ (replace $HOME with your current user home path) Of course, as I already stated, you now need current svn of MLT to start Kdenlive. |

Is there (or could there be) a ./configure option to kdenlive to set the path for mlt, |

kdenlive r1649 and MLT r1019 seem to work perfectly. Thank you so much. |
