Hi everyone

For some weird reason kdenlive won't start. I had a crash while working with kdenlive as default user. Since than kdenlive does not start under this user but it does start as a new user or as root.


Anyone with a idea what possibly could be wrong?

I think there is something broken in Kdenlive's config file, wich is located at:
$home/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc

can you please send me the file so that I can debug this at: jb at kdenlive.org

Then you can delete this config file and Kdenlive should start. Also, I strongly advise that you upgrade to MLT 0.7.2 wich fixes important issues.

Right,

I deleted the file and started again.
But it seems that the kdenliverc file isn't the problem.
My default project settings before the crash were DV PAL Widescreen. If I choose this as the default project than kdenlive won't start.
If I choose i.e. DV Pal, than kdenlive starts up but crashes if I change my project setting to DV PAL widescreen.

So it seems that it only crashes with DV PAL widescreen - AND only when I start it with the default user login. Another user or root does not have the problem.

It's working again. Not sure what exactly the problem was. I had a USB 2 harddisk connected when the chrash happend. Once I had deleted the config file from kdenlive and disconnected the USB drive, started kdenlive again, everything was fine again.
