Experimenting with the new HDV/profile support, I tried loading a project was that was made with "PAL 16:9".

The new kdenlive correctly sees it as "DV PAL Widescreen", but the preview window has a black bar

at top and bottom like a "letterbox format" display. However there is plenty of width available to

show the full height.

When I export, I get a 4:3 image in letterbox format again.

Also, the text clips have been changed and the text is no longer centred.

Thanks.

Hi.

I couldn't exactly reproduce the problem but fixed something in svn that caused similar troubles. Please try to update your svn. For text clips, you will maybe need to edit then and click ok to regenerate the image...

I tried the latest svn - no change.

Opening and closing the text-clip editor does fix the text clips.

I find the problem very easy to produce.

e.g.

- start a new project in latest kdenlive

- Configure Project - Video Format - DV PAL Widescreen

- add-clip, create a 10second colour clip of some colour other than black.

This looks 4:3 in the clip monitor.

- Drag the clip to Track 0,

- select the Timeline Monitor.

It displays with black top and bottom borders.

The clip monitor still shows full height image, though it looks 4:3.

The Timeline monitor shows 16:9, but will black borders.

Works fine for me. Can you check that you have the latest Kdenlive svn revision ( >= 1649), the sourceforge service doesn't seem to work very well currently, maybe my last commits have not been pushed...

Yes, revision 1649.

I tried a fresh install on a fresh machine and it works perfectly like you say.

Maybe some left over config file? Maybe it works on 32bit but not 64bit :-)

I'll explore and report back.

Thanks,

Note to self: Always to a "make clean ; make" and retest before reporting a bug...

I recompiled everything and the problem no longer exists. Sorry for the trouble.
