Anybody else having choppy video & audio running Kdenlive with Ubuntu Studio 8.10 RT?  I'm trying to edit JVC .tod files, which are about a gig a piece.  The only thing I can do is render them to an AVI first, then edit them, which is a slow process.  This seems to improve the usability a bit.

I'm almost betting that it's the nvidia driver (177) that's causing the problem.

I have my playback settings at:

Video Driver:  X11

Audio Driver:  PulseAudio

Audio Device:  Default

Any ideas and thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Can you add your camcorder to the list of supported camcorders. Also, publish raw footage somewhere on internet.
