Why is the monitor turning transparent when playing a video?

The Monitor becomes transparent as soon as I play a video.

I recorded the bug, please check:

As I mentioned there, disabling compiz fusion doesn't help. Then the monitor just turns grey, instead of transparent.

Which graphics card are you using? Which driver in which version?

Geforce 8800 GTS, with the official 180.44 driver. doesn't give me problems anywhere else.

Try changing the monitor background color in Settings > Playback.
