Hello, I am trying to render a video in kdenlive 0.7.5, and only the following render profiles are available:
Raw DV
AVI DV
RealVideo
Theora

The others are crossed out. I can't even create a custom profile using those settings.

I have mlt 0.4.4, from the repositories, and I have compiled today's SVN version of ffmpeg.

I'm running on Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope AMD64.

Can someone please help me figure out why I can't render to h.264, or xvid?

Go to Kdenlive Settings menu and choose "Run Config Wizard". This will update the kdenlive list of codecs available on your system. If that does not work, you can still try to delete file:

$HOME/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc

and restart Kdenlive

If it still does not work, you probably have an installation issue (several versions of MLT or FFmpeg installed...)
