Hello.
So was very happy with Kdenlive until a horrible problem hapen.
I can not render anything in any format. I get the following message:
"Rendering of" video.avi "aborted, Resulting video will probably be corrupted."
I tried many different formats and render things (including leaving only a color screen or text) and nothing. I can not find the solution on the internet, but they are not very clear: /
Does anyone know about this problem? I've tried re-installing but still do not really know how to do that definitely did not help. According to me, I have all the dependencies installed.

I'm working on Ubuntu 9.04

Hola.
Pues era muy feliz con Kdenlive hasta que surgió un horrible problema.
No puedo renderizar nada a ningún formato. Me sale el siguiente mensaje:
«Rendering of "video.avi" aborted, resulting video will probably be corrupted.»

See Support / Common Problems on this site. In particular, on Ubuntu:
On some systems, you may need to install the package names 'ffmpeg-unstripped' instead of 'ffmpeg'.

Then, you also need to re-run the Kdenlive Config Wizard from the Settings menu.

Hi... I found this and it works:

Hello, giraffe!

This error depends on frei0r-plugins!, At first, uninstall frei0r-plugins, then you can launch kdenlive properly and you can run the config wizard.
Next, you should check the ffmpeg libraries such as libavformat, etc. with synaptic. ffmpeg libraries-"unstripped" version are required to render all formats such as HDV, mpeg, mp4, vidx, flush, h264. you can install these unstripped libraries using synaptic.

After installing ffmpeg- unstripped libraries, you can render all formats properly. But, in this situation you can use limited transitions such as Composite, Wipe, Luma. You need frei0r-plugins to use all transition effect.
Next, you can install frei0r-plugins. kdenlive can be launched normally after installing fei0r-plugins, and you can edit everything normally. However, rendering will crash just after starting rendering in any format. Additionally, you can not run the config wizard due to the message of "MLT's SDL module not found". This error depends on the frei0r-plugins library,
/usr/lib/frei0r-1/facedetect.so

So, rename the library as below,
sudo mv /usr/lib/frei0r-1/facedetect.so /usr/lib/frei0r-1/facedetect.so-bak

After this, you can use all transitions and render all formats. Try it!

It is really strange that the render to DV produces mp3 error messages. DV does not use mp3. I do not know what to make of that except that this is a bad build or installation of MLT and/or FFmpeg libavformat/libavcodec.

In case you still want to try something to make Kdenlive work, maybe the problem is that you have several versions of "melt" or "kdenlive_render" installed on your system.

check that by doing:

which melt

and:

which kdenlive_render

If you installed from packages, that should give you:

/usr/bin/melt

and

/usr/bin/kdenlive_render

Then, try to delete kdenlive config file:

$HOME/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc and restart kdenlive, try to render after that

I had a rendering crash issue too.
I got
"Unable to parse option value "dv_pal_wide": undefined constant or missing ("

when rendering. Getting rid of my ~/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc did not help me.

But what I discovered is that you get this render crash if your project is set up as an NTSC project but you choose to render the file in PAL.

I fixed my problem by making sure my projects profile was "DV/DVD widescreen PAL" before trying to render a file with a profile=dv_pal_wide option.
