Helo to all, im trying to use Kdenlive in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala)
with Gnome 2.28.1
I really like kdenlive with a friendly GUI, but I can not make it stable enough.
The first problem was in the render (solved) then there wasnt all render formats avaible (solved) and now Kdenlive fails when I try to load a saved proyect (The log is in the botom)...

Im not wanna get back to windows so im trying the lasts things to do... im thinking installing it from sources but im not sure if it will work. anyone could help me please?

In a terminal window, can you play the kdenlive project file with the 'melt' utility that comes with MLT?

What are your MLT and Kdenlive versions?
Are you trying to load a project created with an older version of Kdenlive?
