Recently I added the the sun-ppa kdenlive stable from Ubuntu Tweak and have updated a few times and recently had issues and had to reinstall kdenlive. Once reinstalled clip images no longer appear on the clips whether they're in my project clips or on the time. It makes editing what I'm doing significantly harder. Any help is appreciated.

Which version of Ubuntu are you using ? The sunab stable ppa actually has the same version of kdenlive (0.7.7.1) as the the sunab stable ppa, because it's the most recent release. If you have issues with Kdenlive from the sunab ppa you can always remove the ppa and use the default Ubuntu repos. You can also add the sunab2 ppa, to be on the bleeding and have all the lastest enhancements (and there are lots !), as well as all the latest bugs (there's a lot going on at the moment, so there are some stability issues from time to time...).

Oh wait... When you say "clip images", do you mean thumbnails ? If so, have you enabled video thumbnails ? (icon in the bottom bar, to the right)
