** EDIT 6th Feb 2011**
*************************************************************************************** ** These problems come out only when as input file I use a kdenlive project! ********* *************************************************************************************** Dear all, I'm trying to crop a DVB video saved as 4:3 into a 16:9 (without the black strips). Kdenlive: 0.7.9 (dev ppa) MLT: 0.6.3 (dev ppa) I've tried all the tools for cropping: - crop: it does no work at all. I changed values in any way, tried to export but without changes - Transl. and zoom: the interface is not very easy, but I could set the 16:9 dimensions with good proportions. The yellow rectangle and image are not in synch at all. The problem then is that the exported video has a small image (scaled about 2/3) not showed in the preview (I think my error). Frankly, I'm not able to use this function :-( - Scale and Tilt: this function is easy to understand and use. The preview works fine but... the exported 16:9 file has two vertical black strips "cropping" it at 4:3. Just to explain better I add some image: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7540375/projectSettings.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7540375/exportSettings.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7540375/ffplayOutput.png I've tried to change project properties without luck. If I'm doing something wrong, please help me! :-) thank you Dino |

Wait a moment!
I've made some tests on my work PC and... it seems my home PC has something wrong. Crop and Translation&Zoom work! I haven't the original video for tests, but the effects work. I think there's something wrong with some library. I'm not able also to use selection. I'll try to reinstall all the dependencies. I hope to solve all the questions :) ********************************************** *** OK I FOUND THE PROBLEM *** (NOT SOLVED) ** THE PROBLEM COMES OUT WHEN I TRY TO CROP/ZOOM A FILE THAT IS A KDENLIVE PROJECT ITSELF ** Maybe a bug? Let me know... ****************************************************** |

I am able to use Crop and Pan and Zoom OK on a kdenlive project as a clip. I am using latest unreleased versions from source.
