Hang on opening saved project

Situation: I can't open a project file I had been working on until yesterday. Kdenlive hangs, does not crash. Since I had open last project by default on, I can't even start a new project or try to change settings. I'm kind of "locked out".

I checked mantis, bug report 01711 could be related.

I tried changing "kdenlivesettings.kcfg" in /opt/local/var/macports/software/kdenlive/0.7.8_0/opt/local/share/config.kcfg/ but found out open last project option was already set as false (but appareantly kdenlive hangs trying to open the last project, and I have always opend last projects automatically… what's wrong with this?)

I also tried deleting the thumbnails. It still hangs.

So I really don't know what should I do. If this report is incomplete, please tell me how to retrieve more information to send.

and kdenlive is still hanging. Could this help?

Also tried uninstalling kdenlive and reinstalling, still hangs.
Opening ANY .kdenlive file hangs, not just my last project.

try rebuilding the mlt port

I'm getting the same thing.

I just did a fresh install - ran the "first run" wizard, but selected the "Open previous Project" option. Currently, there is no "Previous Project", but it's hung at 50%, trying to open one...

I've tried deleting config files etc, but can't get it to re-run the first-run wizard or stop trying to open the project. Help!

Ps - Also tried re "make install" on the MLT, but didn't fix it.

Ok - I've fixed it...

I ran "kdenlive -" it reported that it was unable to open file "-" and then came up with the correct display.
I then changed the "open last used project" setting back to off

Re-ran kedenlive and hey-presto.. all is good :)
