I can't start up Kdenlive after upgrading to 0.8.2. The application crashes on startup and reloading doesn't work either.
Here's some info: Application: Kdenlive (kdenlive), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0x7fb52dd387c0 (LWP 2503))] Thread 2 (Thread 0x7fb51c917700 (LWP 2504)): #0 0x00007fb527b48f03 in poll () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 #1 0x00007fb526c5d104 in ?? Seems like a problem with your MLT. You need MLT 0.7.6 for Kdenlive 0.8.2. Make sure you don't have an older version installed.

I have libmlt4, libmlt++3 and libmlt-dbg installed as the 0.7.6 version, but the libmlt-data is the 1:0.6.2-0.0 version. That's what it says on Synaptic.
Do you think that's the problem? I tried to load Kdenlive again and it now says this: Application: Kdenlive (kdenlive), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0x7fbc7d7707c0 (LWP 2012))] Thread 3 (Thread 0x7fbc6c34f700 (LWP 2013)): #0 0x00007fbc77580f03 in poll () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 #1 0x00007fbc76695104 in ?? Will it come through Synaptic if I have your ppa launchpad thing set up?

hey there smeefer. yes, it should come from his PPA by issuing an update and then an upgrade of your packages. What PPA u using? if it's his kdenlive-stable PPA then try out his experimental svn PPA. He's been updating from git a lot lately and many bugs are fixed BUT obviously since it's bleeding edge you may experience new issues. It's so easy to go back and forth though IMO. I am using Ubuntu 10.04 with FFMPEG from Ubuntu's repo's and x264 I believe I am getting from Medibuntu repo's so that I can encode in mp4 with x264 and aac audio. Good luck

Thanks! I just had the kdenlive-release ppa on my update manager. I just added kdenlive-svn and got a new upgrade. Installing now...
Just tried to open Kdenlive, but it's still crashing on me: Application: Kdenlive (kdenlive), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0x7f99fa1d07c0 (LWP 3040))] Thread 3 (Thread 0x7f99e8db0700 (LWP 3042)): #0 0x00007f99f3fe1f03 in poll () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 #1 0x00007f99f15c4104 in ??
