Thank for your rapid answer.
I just install the program from the debian repository and that's all. I am working on debian 2.6.38-2 amd64 and the problems come out when I want to open some avi files, with other, right now, all seems to be right. But be sure I'll try to follow the instruction in the link you have posted as soon as I can. Thank |

This is a repport about your suggestion:
#1 - Try playing your video file with FFmpeg's player. From a terminal: ffplay myvideo.mpg I have tested one video and it runs good with any problems, but later on I have tested one avi file and this is the output: xxxx@debian:~$ ffplay file:///home/pippo/Video/Prova_var.avi FFplay version 0.6.2, Copyright (c) 2003-2010 the FFmpeg developers built on May 21 2011 16:13:49 with gcc 4.6.1 20110507 (prerelease) configuration: --prefix=/usr --extra-cflags='-Wall -g ' --cc='ccache cc' --enable-shared --enable-libmp3lame --enable-gpl --enable-nonfree --enable-libdirac --disable-decoder=libdirac --enable-libvorbis --enable-pthreads --enable-libfaac --enable-libxvid --enable-postproc --enable-x11grab --enable-libgsm --enable-libtheora --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libx264 --enable-libspeex --enable-nonfree --disable-stripping --enable-libschroedinger --disable-encoder=libschroedinger --enable-version3 --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libvpx --enable-librtmp --extra-libs=-lgcrypt --enable-avfilter --enable-avfilter-lavf --disable-altivec --disable-armv5te --disable-armv6 --disable-vis libavutil 50.15. 1 / 50.15. 1 libavcodec 52.72. 2 / 52.72. 2 libavformat 52.64. 2 / 52.64. 2 libavdevice 52. 2. 0 / 52. 2. 0 libavfilter 1.19. 0 / 1.19. 0 libswscale 0.11. 0 / 0.11. 0 libpostproc 51. 2. 0 / 51. 2. 0 Input #0, avi, from 'file:///home/pippo/Video/Prova_var.avi': Duration: 00:00:11.80, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 29839 kb/s Stream #0.0: Video: dvvideo, yuv420p, 720x576, 25 tbr, 25 tbn, 25 tbc Stream #0.1: Audio: pcm_s16le, 32000 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 1024 kb/s 11.80 A-V: -2.924 s:0.0 aq= 0KB vq= 0KB sq= 0B f=0/294 0/0 #2 - Try playing your video file with MLT's player.
