Hi all, Was just playing with Kdenlive-kde4 and thinking how slick it's looking, and how it may be time for a logo update to reflect the new version. Logos are generally meant to look good in both colour and black and white. I've only done the black and white version so far, but if you can get that looking good, colour is usually easy. It's just a rough draft with some tweaking to do, but I'm more interested in getting feedback on the concept overall. SVG is available if wanted. The black box around the whole thing is done by this forum software and isn't part of the design. So what do you all think? |

Now if I could just find a clever way to play on the fact that: Kdenlive (KDE)4 = KDE NL(IV)E = KDE + (N)on (L)inear (E)ditor +IV (Roman for 4) |

Thanks for your work. Yes, I am open to a new logo, but how do you see the relation between the application icon and the logo? So I think we should decide on one of these options: 1) application icon and website are completely unrelated 2) we try to update application icon and/or website logo so that they share some similarities (color, ...) 3) We must use the same logo for website and application icon I would say that option 2) is ok for me, but I would be glad to hear other voices. |

Sure, I can see value in that (having visual elements from the app in the logo). Personally I'd opt for option three for the strongest, most consistent branding. |

Ok, so cinephiliac, do you want to update your logo to include Kdenlive's icon ? Or do you want to change the current icon? If you want to get the Kdenlive icon svg source, it can be retrieved from the following mime icon: |

I'm fine with whatever you want jbm. If everyone wants to keep everything as it is, that's fine with me. My personal *opinion* is that the project would benefit from a unified, updated icon and logo. If help is wanted I'm happy to do what I can. I don't feel it's my place to tell anyone what to do though, especially people who have contributed much more. I just want the project to succeed, am happy to offer design / publicity help wherever it will be appreciated. :) PS Thanks for the feedback! |

I think the first logo looks amazingly professional. |

Yes, I agree that the first logo with the "N" made with a film part looks great. And we could use that "N" logo as the application icon. So Cinephiliac, if you are ok, maybe you could work on that first version, add some colors and rework a little bit the "N" so that we can also make an icon of it, what do you think ? regards |

This is just a quick post with a couple of bits I'd already done before your last post JB, just to check to see if you like any of them better. Let me know whatever you think and I'll get polishing.
