I have a video that is in HD resolution that I'd like to rescale to a smaller size so it can be viewed on smartphones.
In the Render Project dialog, I select check "Rescale" on, and set it to 480X270. However, when it renders, it does not rescale it, but instead renders a cropped 480X270 sized section from the top left of the video. So all one sees is a corner of the action. How do I render a scaled down version of my video? |

Which Kdenlive version / distro? There was a bug in some versions that prevented rescale to work correctly...

I'm using Kdenlive 0.9.2 on Ubuntu 12.10.

So... is there any fix for this, or is it just a bug that nothing can be done about for now?

Hi Dave,
I can reproduce the bug with Kdenlive 0.9.2 on Ubuntu 12.10 : it appears to be triggered by the "Pan and Zoom" effect which seems to interfere with resizing at render time. Do you actually use this effect in your project? If so, the good news for you is that it's fixed in the current devel version, available throug sunab's devel ppa. |

Thank you for the response.
I do have pan and zoom filters effects in my video. I installed sunab's devel ppa (kdenlive-svn), and ran a software update. but I can't determine if my version of Kdenlive has been upgraded. It still says version 9.2, and when rendering it is still not rescaling. |

@Dave M G:
Bad luck, I just noticed this on sunab's PPA ( https://launchpad.net/~sunab/+archive/kdenlive-svn ): NOTE : 2012/11/15 : All packages have been deleted but will come back soon. So wait a little bit, and check the PPA page, then when they are back online, do an update & upgrade again. |

Version 9.3 downloaded and tested... seems like scaling is now working.
Thanks for your help! |
